TOOKILIG SAFE MEETUP GUIDELINES
At tookilig, we want your experience transitioning from online interactions to in-person meetups to be safe and enjoyable. Whether you are attending a personal meetup or one of our official tookilig events, your safety is our priority.
Please follow these guidelines when attending a tookilig meetup:
Please follow these guidelines when attending a tookilig meetup:
1. Plan Your First Meeting in a Public Place
- Always meet in a busy, public location for your first few dates. Avoid private or secluded areas, like someone’s home or remote locations.
- For tookilig-organised meetups, the venue will be pre-arranged in a safe and accessible public space.
2. Arriving on Time
- Please ensure you arrive at the meetup venue on time. Punctuality helps maintain the smooth flow of events and allows for everyone’s enjoyment.
- If you’re running late, kindly inform the event organizer or your date ahead of time through the contact information provided.
- Late Arrivals: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your participation in the event may be subject to restrictions (e.g., not being able to join certain activities). Remember, we highly respect each other’s time.
3. No-Show Policy and Refunds
- No Refunds for No-Shows: If you do not attend a booked tookilig event or fail to arrive at the specified time for any meetups, refunds will not be provided. This applies to both one-time and subscription-based event bookings.
- Your spot at the event is reserved once payment is confirmed. Please ensure you’re committed to attending, as no-shows impact both the event and other participants.
4. Share Your Plans with a Friend or Family Member
- Share the details of the meetup, including the event name, location, and time, with someone you trust.
- Use a check-in system, letting your trusted person know when you arrive and leave the event.
5. Keep Your Personal Information Private
- Avoid sharing personal details, like your home address or workplace, during the initial meetings.
- For tookilig events, your profile details will not be shared with other attendees without your permission.
6. Arranging Your Own Transportation
- Always arrange your own transportation to and from the meetup. If attending a tookilig-organized event, you are responsible for getting to and from the venue safely.
- Avoid relying on other attendees or participants for transportation until you feel comfortable.
7. Trust Your Instincts
- If something feels uncomfortable or concerning during the meetup, trust your instincts and exit the situation.
- If you are attending a tookilig event and feel unsafe or uncomfortable, speak with an event organizer who can assist you.
8. Stay Sober and Alert
- If you choose to drink alcohol at the event, please do so responsibly. Excessive consumption can impair judgment and affect your safety.
- Avoid leaving your drinks or personal belongings unattended.
9. Have a Backup Plan
- Be familiar with the area and have a plan in case you need to leave early. Know the locations of public transport or have a ride-hailing service such as Grab on hand.
- Establish a backup plan with a friend and use a code word if you need them to check in or pick you up.
10. Report Suspicious Behavior
- If anyone behaves inappropriately or makes you feel uncomfortable, report their behavior to the event organizer or to tookilig through our platform.
- For personal meetups, you can block or report users directly within the tookilig app.
11. Respect Event Guidelines
- Please follow the guidelines and rules of tookilig-organized events, including respecting all attendees and the event structure.
- Disruptive behavior may lead to removal from the event without refund and potential account suspension.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure your safety and make the most of your tookilig meetups. Remember always to prioritize your well-being and communicate with event organizers if you have any concerns.
